Overview
The Rider Development Tour – Wales combines great riding with practical, on-road coaching designed to help you refine your advanced road skills and develop confident machine handling while exploring some of the best roads in the UK.
You’ll ride in a small group of just two riders per instructor, ensuring plenty of personal attention and tailored feedback throughout the journey. The focus is on observation, positioning, control, and smooth, progressive riding.
The Experience
Each day offers the opportunity to ride a variety of roads and time for breaks. Evenings provide an opportunity to unwind, share experiences, and review the day’s progress in a friendly, informal setting.
Accommodation is biker-friendly and selected for comfort, convenience, and great hospitality.
Why Wales?
Wales offers a great mix of terrain and riding — from sweeping open roads and twisting valleys to dramatic coastal routes with long stretches of national speed limits.
Routes may vary depending on weather, conditions and group needs, but wherever we go, you’ll find rewarding roads that encourage you to further develop your riding skills and machine control.
By the end of the 3 days, you will have covered 550 miles approximately. We anticipate that you feel more confident, more aware, and more connected with your bike with great memories of an enjoyable and worthwhile trip.
What to Expect
Over three days, you will ride with a different instructor (your buddy) who is a highly qualified and experienced advanced instructors, you’ll experience a variety of A and B road types each chosen to present opportunities to apply and improve your advanced roadcraft and to also enjoy the Welsh landscape.
Coaching takes place out on the road, with informal discussions and feedback during stops and at the end of each day.
There’ll be opportunities to improve your observation, road positioning, throttle control and gear selection, as well as developing your confidence with corners, unknown roads, overtakes and braking – all at your own pace.
With a 1:2 instructor-to-student ratio the atmosphere remains relaxed, personal, and supportive. The goal is simple: enjoy the ride while developing your awareness, precision, and control through real-world experience.
Coffee and lunch stops have been chosen because they are biker-friendly, conveniently located along the route, and offer suitable facilities. We are unable to reserve lunch tables in advance due to the flexible nature of our training tour. However, as we will be riding on midweek roads, the venues we visit should be relatively quiet.
We look forward to welcoming you on the tour and sharing an unforgettable few days of great roads, expert coaching, and relaxed company

Our 2027 Coaching Team
We're delighted to introduce the coaching team planned for our 2027 Wales Rider Development Tour. While we fully expect the team shown to be with us in Wales, occasionally circumstances beyond our control may require a change. Should that happen, we will always aim to provide a coach of an appropriate standard and experience.
